A Homecoming Story to Remember
Welcome to the official site of Linda Kinslow, author of Grandfather’s Legacy. Here you will find more than just a book introduction. This website opens the door to a story about resilience, a woman’s promise, and the lessons that echo through generations.
About the Author
Meet Linda Kinslow, a passionate storyteller with deep roots in Central Texas. Linda Kinslow was raised in Oglesby, a small Central Texas town surrounded by Blackland Prairies. The rhythm of rural life gave her an appreciation for family bonds and traditions that last.
Her professional path began in science, with years spent as a geophysicist in Houston and in Trinidad. Later, she returned to Central Texas to teach physics at Baylor University.
Now retired, Linda enjoys gardening and the companionship of her golden retriever, Sierra. Faith and family have always guided her, and those same values shape her storytelling. Writing Grandfather’s Legacy gave her the chance to bring together her life experiences and the themes that have defined her journey: perseverance, memory, and love that carries forward.
About the Book
At the center of Grandfather’s Legacy is Paula Phillips, a woman who must rebuild her family’s life after the death of her husband, Duncan. Paula is left with four children, Aaron, Cassie, Carrie, and Hannah, and a letter that Duncan wrote before his passing. His words ask her to return to Trafford, Texas, where their story began.
The move from the ocean views of La Jolla to the quiet land of Texas is difficult for all of them. Paula balances grief with the challenges of starting again. Aaron struggles in school. Cassie, Carrie, and Hannah try to make sense of a new place and a new rhythm.
Yet, within her grandfather’s farmhouse, Paula discovers that home is not simply a location. It is the values, love, and faith that are carried and taught from one generation to the next.
